About The Role
The Junior Payment and Fraud Analyst is designed for someone interested in building a career in fraud prevention, payments, and risk management. In this role, you will work closely with our Payment and Fraud team to help protect the bank and our customers from fraudulent activity while supporting secure and efficient payment operations.
You will assist with transaction monitoring, fraud investigations, customer and account reviews, case documentation, reporting, and operations support tasks. This role provides hands on exposure to digital banking, payment systems, fraud detection tools, and the regulatory environment surrounding financial services.

What You’ll Do
- Monitor daily payment activity across ACH, debit card, and other payment channels for unusual or suspicious activity
- Review alerts generated by fraud monitoring systems and escalate potential fraud concern to senior team members
- Assist with customer account reviews, investigations, and fraud case documentation.
- Support the team in identifying suspicious transactions, payment anomalies, and other fraud indicators.
- Maintain accurate records of fraud investigations, and case outcomes.
- Help gather data and information needed for investigations, audits, and compliance reviews.
- Support Know Your Customer (KYC) and Know Your Business (KYB) review process when applicable.
- Communicate professionally with internal teams regarding fraud related issues and operational needs.
- Provide enhanced due diligence and escalated investigations for high risk funds transfers.
- Providing investigation, documentation, and decisions for customer payment disputes and chargebacks.
- Learn and use fraud detection tools, case management systems, and reporting platforms.
- Assist with testing and implementation of new fraud controls, alerts, workflows, and processes.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and share recommendations with the team.
- Stay informed on emerging fraud trends and participate in ongoing training and development opportunities.
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
What You Bring
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 1-2 years of experience in banking, financial services, fraud prevention, risk management, payments, customer service, operations or related fields.
- Internship experience in financial services, payments, compliance, fraud or data analysis is a plus.
- Customer service, contact center, banking operations, or payment processing experience is highly valued.
- Interest in fraud prevention, financial crimes, payment systems, and risk management.
- Exposure to SQL, reporting tools, or data visualization platforms is a plus.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Dependable, accountable, and eager to learn from feedback.
