QA Automation Architect

The QA Automation Architect at Austin Capital Bank is responsible for designing and implementing a comprehensive strategy for automated testing across various stages of the software development lifecycle. This role focuses on developing and maintaining an automation framework that supports continuous integration and delivery, ensuring high-quality software deployment with reduced manual effort. The Automation Architect works closely with development, operations, and quality assurance teams to identify areas for automation, select appropriate tools, and integrate automated tests into the development pipelines. This role demands hands on validation with need of exposure to Functional and Automation testing.

Responsibilities and Duties
  • Automation Strategy Development: Define and implement the automation strategy for software testing, including tool selection, process integration, and long-term vision.
  • Framework Design and Implementation: Design, develop, and maintain scalable and robust automated testing frameworks for UI, API, and Batch job across various platforms and technologies.
  • Team Leadership and Collaboration: Mentor QA engineers. Collaborate with development and operations teams to integrate automated testing into the CI/CD pipeline, facilitating a DevOps culture.
  • Process Improvement: Continuously assess the effectiveness of the automation strategy and framework, making improvements to increase test coverage, efficiency, and reliability.
  • Tool Evaluation and Selection: Research, evaluate, and recommend automation tools and technologies to best support testing needs and objectives.
  • Training and Mentoring: Provide training and guidance to QA and development teams on automated testing best practices, tools, and techniques.
  • Quality Metrics and Reporting: Develop metrics and reporting mechanisms to measure the effectiveness of automated tests and identify areas for improvement.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential risks associated with the automated testing strategy and work proactively to mitigate them.

Preferred Knowledge and Experience
  • 10+ years’ experience in Software Engineering roles
  • Strong understanding of QA methodologies, tools, and processes.
  • Hands-on experience with automated testing tools (e.g., Selenium, Appium) and frameworks (e.g. TestNG).
  • Proficient in one or more programming languages (e.g., Java, C#, Python) relevant to test automation.
  • Experience with Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
