Duties & Responsibilities:
- Provide database/warehouse expertise in database architecture, design, development, implementation, storage, retrieval and data flow
- Optimize through performance tuning, troubleshooting and administration
- Manage Azure SQL Database, Postgres (in AWS) and Snowflake environments
- Holistically analyze issues from the application tier to the database and storage
- Develop and implement strategies for disaster recovery, data recovery and contingency planning
- Ensure database/warehouse systems’ high availability, reliability and observability
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field, advanced degree a plus
- 5 to 7 years of experience in Azure SQL Database (MS SQL) and/or Postgres.
- Snowflake design/administration experience a plus
- Azure and/or AWS experience a plus
- Strong knowledge of and hands-on experience with SQL, TSQL technologies
- Ability to write, troubleshoot and optimize complex TSQL queries and stored procedures
- Experience and understanding of Data Cleansing and structures
- Technical expertise in data models, database design, ETL development, and data mining
- Postgres write-ahead log is a preferred experience
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Deep practitioner of Agile and Lean Start-Up methodologies.
- Demonstrated continuous improvement and a continuous learning mindset.
- Demonstrated capability as a lifecycle problem solver (idea -> implementation).
- Strong engineering leaders who can roll up their sleeves
- An execution-focused executive with a “get things done” attitude.
- Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to senior executives and customers.
- Ability to cultivate a culture of openness, transparency, and inclusion.
- Excellent knowledge of strategic planning and capability development with experience implementing technology strategy and roadmaps.
- Excellent written and oral presentation skills used to influence other leaders across the enterprise.
